Mr. Shoener, a Pottsville native, has been the Director of Bands in Grades 5-12 at the Shenandoah Valley School District since the Summer of 2017.  Mr. Shoener holds a Bachelor's of Music Education degree from Penn State, and a Master's in Music Education from the University of Florida.  He plays trumpet and serves as Associate Conductor in the Cressona Band, and leads the M&J Big Band of Pottsville.  He also served as Principal Conductor with the Gabriel Youth Orchestra, and lead trumpet with the After Hours Big Band.

Mr. Circelli, a Pottsville native, has been with the SV Band staff since Summer 2018.  He has attended Ithaca College for Tuba Performance studies, as well as Tompkins-Cortland College for Business in upstate New York.  He maintains a busy schedule teaching elementary band lessons at Shenandoah, as well as performing with the Cressona Band, and the M&J Big Band.

Miss Bidding joined the staff in the 2023-24 season.  She teaches Grades Pre K-6 General Music, 5th and 6th Grade Elementary Chorus, and 5th and 6th Grade Band Lessons.  She also represents Shenandoah Valley as the High School Chorus Director.

Outside of SV, he participates in the Keep Out Brass Band, Knoebel's Brass Band, M&J Big Band, Looker, and local musicals.  Miss Bidding holds a Bachelor's of Music Education Degree from Penn State, as well as a Master's in Music Theory from Penn State.

Robert A. Nowak, percussion, was a member of the music faculty at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA. In addition to teaching Introduction to Music classes, percussion, percussion methods, and directing the mallet and percussion ensembles at LVC, Nowak also served as the percussion consultant for Pottsville Area High School and Tamaqua Area High School. He is Principal Percussionist of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic and Former Principal Percussionist of the Reading Symphony Orchestra.

He is a graduate of Mansfield State College, Mansfield, PA and the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida. Norwak has performed with: Al Martino, Johnny Mathis, Tony Bennett, Bob Hope, and much more.

He is a member of the Educational Team of Vic Firth, Inc. He is honored to endorse Musser and to be an educational endorser for Sabian Cymbals.

Flag Instructor

Mrs. Miscannon has been the Flag Advisor at Shenandoah Valley since 2023.  She serves as a Guidance Counselor in the district.  She is a proud Shenandoah Valley graduate where she participated in the band under Bonnie DeAngelo.

Band Assistant

Ms. Cantwell has been a Band Assistant at Shenandoah Valley since 2025.  She serves as a Special Education Paraprofessional in the district.  She is a proud Shenandoah Valley graduate where she participated in the band front under Walter Choplick Jr, and Lynn Griffiths.
